Where dates come from

We use official sources in this order:

1. The school’s official term-date page, calendar or published handbook
2. An official campus or cohort notice
3. The school’s governing system, diocese or education authority
4. The relevant state or territory government-school calendar

Third-party websites may help us discover a source, but they are not treated as final confirmation.

What the status labels mean

Published dates

The school or its official authority has published the dates.

Part-published dates

Some dates are confirmed, while another term, campus or cohort remains incomplete.

Government-system baseline

Statewide government-school dates are shown as a reference because a calendar for that individual school has not yet been verified. Local dates may differ.

Awaiting publication

We have not found a complete official calendar and do not substitute an estimate.

Campuses and student groups

A single school can publish different dates for junior and senior students, new students, boarders or separate campuses. Where an official source identifies an exception, we show its scope rather than presenting it as a whole-school date.

Important dates and public holidays

An important date appears under a term only when it falls fully inside that school’s published term boundaries. Public holidays are geographically scoped and displayed separately from school-specific curriculum or student-free days.

Government-system dates

State and territory calendars are useful baselines for government schools. They do not necessarily include a particular school’s local pupil-free days, closures or cohort arrangements. Pages using a system calendar identify it clearly.

National school directory

Australia’s national school list is maintained by ACARA. We do not currently republish its bulk directory because the public-download terms do not grant permission for redistribution on this website. National directory records will be added only after the required reuse permission or an appropriate licensed source is in place.

A sourced association listing may link to a non-indexed school profile while its calendar is being checked. Only school pages with useful dates verified from an official source enter the public calendar directory and sitemap.

Updates and corrections

We retain the last verified calendar when a source changes and review differences before publishing them. Dates are never silently estimated. Families should still confirm important travel or care arrangements with the school.
